The table below shows some of the early costs - all figures are in Australian Dollars - and picks up most of the structural stuff.  Not all purchases reflect an economical approach, indeed in a couple of cases extra expense has been incured simply due to mistakes I have made - not too many but...

Over time I stopped recording the costs - either because it was frightening or in reality I just lost track.  I made that many trips to hardware stores and chandlers I don't like to think what I racked up in cost.  My issue though was time so I did not attempt to find the cheapest supplier, rather I just went and got the thing.  The areas of significant expense not noted in the table below were (I think):

Paint - I used 5 litres of primer, 5 of undercoat and 6 of top coat - using International Paints all up that cost around AU$450.

Trailer - I bought a new trailer at a cost of AU$1350, but then had to lash out another AU$160 for some further fittings for it.

Sails - I bought sails from Duckworks which at time of writing this are around US$850 or AU$1150.  I then had to pay a further AU$200 for import duties and taxes.

Oregon for spars - I bought this dressed to the suitable sizes for shaping and this cost around AU$400.

Rigging - I spent a small fortune on this stuff, buying a few bits from Classic Marine in the UK and a load of Ronstan stuff here.  I don't begrudge the cost of Classic Marine items - they are very attractive; I do think that Ronstan prices seem iniquitous but I think that is a widely held view and maybe just the way it is with this stuff - all in all I suspect I spent about AU$650.
